YUMMY!

I love this time of year for many reasons, but I think what I like most is being in the kitchen baking with family. Last night I was at my mom's house, I was keeping certain gifts there so a little girl wouldn't find them. As always when I go to my parents house, my dad was cooking. Last night he made a yummy potato soup. After dinner I made chocolate chip cookies. Today it is snowy and VERY cold outside so Kaily and I decided to bake. I needed to make bread so she helped me do that and I think we will make more cookies, mom's fudge and magic cookie bars to take to the neighbors later. There is nothing like the smell of goodies baking! Kaily is so interested in how to do things and she loves to help me in the kitchen. Even Conner likes to get in on the action. He crawls around the floor saying, "hot, hot oooo, hot, hot oooo."

Thanks for a very fun evening. I appreciate that you made my favorite chocolate chip cookies. I love every minute I can spend with my daughter, especially when we can bake together. Although, it's usually me who watches the kids while she creates in the kitchen. Thanks Karen.

Mmmm... that all sounds so good, I love baking even though Erika and I don't get to do it often we try sometimes. Your dad is certainly an awesome cook, one of the things that I remember well. We got a good library of cookbooks given to us as gifts and I want to explore some new recipes. There is this lady at work who works on a recipe over and over again until she gets it just the way she likes it. Then, she never shares the recipe but the cookies are SO amazing... I'm completely speechless when I eat them, never had anything like it before... ever! Like eating HeaVEN! Really.

With you as her teacher, Kaily will be a great cook!
