Super Why and growing pains

Conner is almost 3 and he has become obsessed with playing games on the computer. I had to put him in the bath just so he would let me on here....Now that it's Friday, I started writing this yesterday morning, and he's in bed I will try to finish this. As I was writing the above he got out of the tub and told me it was now his turn to be on the computer again. We disagree about the amount of time he gets to spend on here. He thinks the computer is his and he gets to dictate when anyone can be on it. He knows how to use the mouse and can find some letters on the key board to type out what he wants, like letters for Super Why games from PBSkids.com. It is the first question I get from him in the morning, "Mom, can I play PBSkids?" Not, "what's for breakfast," or "Good morning, Mom." The question then gets asked 3-4 times a day depending on how many times I have already kicked him off. He really only plays Super Why, which means now I hear the songs in the car, during dinner, when he's outside playing and when Kaily is home and won't let him get on the computer he asks her to pretend Super Why. He does this with a lot of things though so I shouldn't be surprised. He gets obsessive, it lasts for a few weeks and then he's done with it. The computer is just the latest in a long line of obsessions for him. The last few weeks since the baby was born it was Beauty and the Beast. He would watch it nonstop all day. It was a fight to turn it off. Now, he's over it and we have moved on.

With Conner tuning 3 it has also reminded me why I hate 3's so much. Dealing with Conner by himself can be challenging enough, but you add a newborn on top of that who doesn't like to hear his brother scream and you have a recipe for disaster. Conner doesn't like it when Corbin cries and one will almost always make the other cry, mostly when Conner is tired. Kaily can be either a HUGE help or the biggest problem, depending on her mood. She does try to be a good big sis and most of the time does a great job, but siblings will be siblings, which means fights are inevitable.

Those lovely, lovely moments. Super Why came out when Joe was four, and he was obsessed for awhile. It is one of the less obnoxious shows (can we say Dora - not too loudly, lest a young girl hear), so it was alright.
