debit card in my back pocket. I didn't own a purse, I didn't want a purse, even though I was told all the time that I should get one. Before the back pocket I had a day timer that I carried around with me everywhere I went, but it got bulky and I hated caring it around, it left me without a hand to do things and then it was the matter of putting it down when I was someplace b/c I hated leaving it in the car. I also had one on my mission that I loved. After I got married my husband was appalled that I would just use my back pocket for things. He tried to convince me that I should be like all the other woman out there and get a purse. I dug in my heals, I was NOT going to have a purse.
You may be asking yourself, "Why is she so adamant about NOT having a purse?" Well, that is a good question but it has a silly answer, it was TOO girly. I have never tried to be a girly girl, just the opposite, I was trying to NOT be one those girls. I would say that as if I was going to catch something, like it was a disease.
What does this all have to do with anything? The wallet has lived a great 5 1/2 years and is now dead. I am at a loss of what to do now that it is gone and won't hold anything I put into it anymore. My day planners that I once had have also died. What to do, what to do. I have been looking for something for weeks to replace my wallet. But there is always something wrong with the ones I look at. I got online the other day and found this day planner 
that has an adorable purse that goes with it. I LOVE IT! I was shocked that I would want this purse, but really, I do. Why don't I just get it? The planner with the purse costs more $ than I can justify. Clint told me to just get it if I like it so much. I think he likes the idea that I want a purse. SO, I will continue to search for something I love as much as I love this, and hopefully it will cheaper, but in the end I might just end up getting it.

I've also always been anti-purse because it was just too girly. I ended up getting this: http://www.rei.com/product/747922 at REI. They make prettier versions for a little more money. It's a wallet that zips up, so nothing falls out and the little string can be tucked into a pocket on the back, or pulled out. I LOVE being able to just pick it up by the handle or throw it in the diaper bag, then when I go in the library or go somewhere without the kids, I use the string to carry it like a "purse" so I still have by hands free. Also enough space to throw my cell phone and car/house key in there and still zip it up. Just an idea!
I too was a back pocket girl. And now I have to have my hands free. One of my friends gave me some handmedowns and included was a wallet purse that I love. It's red and I like that too. :) It has two zipper compartments one for cards one for cash and a cell phone pocket on the back. I attach the keys to where the string attaches (the string is removable) if I don't have a pocket. I love it cause the string is long enough to wear cross body so I always have my hands free. It's small enough that it doesn't get in the way very often too.
If you really love it go for it since you will get your money's worth out of it. You will use it like crazy until it falls apart and hopefully since you spent some money on it that will be a long time from now. :) Quality is ok to pay for.
Buy the purse and the day timer. It will last you a lot longer than you think. In the meantime, email so I can send you some info on a great purse that changes looks!
