Already?!
I don't know what is normal since I was not so normal in the girl department, but is it normal for Kaily to be liking boys already? There is a boy at her school who is very kind and was in her class last year whom she had a crush on at the end of last year. I thought it would die out over the summer, alas, it did not. Now that the year is in full swing she talks about him all the time and even wants to write little notes to him. Any ideas on how I should go about this?

We told Kealan that he shouldn't have girlfriends. We told him what was ok and what wasn't so he understood. I think writing notes is fine because you would let her write a girlfriend notes. Holding hands we said was fine. Kissing (even on the cheek was not) Just figure out where you want the line to be and let her know what it is beforehand so she has some guidance. Let her know why you are drawing the line. Kealan had his first "girlfriend" in first grade too. So we had to deal with that too. Good luck!
I think it comes and goes (next thing you know boys will have cooties) and it depends on the person. I remember us having boy versus girl chasing games in Kindergarten and having crushes that young. My mom says the neighbor boy and I would hold hands on the swing and say we were getting married. I was not a boy crazy teen though so you don't have to worry too much yet. :)
