School and choices

With August creeping behind the corner it's time again to think about school. Kaily has her back to school night the third week and then both she and Clint start back on the 24th. Some BIG things have been happening with school lately. Drum roll please.....Clint has made a decision!!! Clint met with a counselor at the school who gave him a bunch of paper work to look over after he had Clint take some personality and career assessment tests. The choice has been made and he is going to get a BFA degree, Bachelor of Fine Arts. He is VERY excited to be going in this direction and I am equally excited to see him so thrilled about all of it. He doesn't know what his emphasis will be yet and that's ok for now. He will make a more clear choice about that by Spring semester.

This has been a great growing experience for all of us. We knew that we were supposed to be here, but after Clint quit the program we were unclear about our path. Lots of things started to fall into place for us, lots of answered prayers and lots of surprises. The biggest eye opener was when a good friend of mine had, what could have been a huge tragedy, happen. It was VERY clear to Clint and I that there was a reason for his time in the nursing program and that there was a reason for our move here. There is no doubt in my mind that this is where we need to be right now. I know that there are lots of things still to learn here and I look forward to what they are. Challenges have a funny way of putting things into perspective for me. They remind me of things I already know, but sometimes forget and they remind me just how great and huge our Heavenly Fathers plan is for each of us. I am grateful for faith and all the comfort it brings. "...all these things shall give thee experience, and be for thy good." Doctrine and Covenants 122:7

Here's to a great new beginning and a great semester!

I'm so proud of children who pray and listen for the spirit to help guide their decisions. It's hard for parents to just sit back and watch, wanting to be a participant, but not wanting to discourage any of it. Making decisions is a daily fact in our lives. It's such a blessing to know we have a Heavenly Father who will help us if we but ask and listen. You have been such an example for me. I sometimes forget that challenges can make us stronger. You and Clint, with your positive attitudes, have made such an impact on our whole family. Thank you for teaching us there's always a door open when one closes. I like to see the rainbows in a life of dark clouds, giving us hope for a new beginning. Thanks for your example.
