Kaily is 7

She has been planning and asking for months now and today she is finally turning 7!  We went to lunch with her at school today.

Kaily is an amazing person!  She is the best helper I could ever have.  She is kind and loving towards everyone.  She is passionate about life and it makes her sad when others don't treat people with kindness.  She is a great big sister, daughter, cousin and friend.  She loves big and, in general feels things deeply.  She is loving 1rst grade and is doing great at overcoming the challenges that the grade brings.  She reads at a 3rd grade level and is doing 2nd grade math.  She LOVES to draw and color.  She wants to be just like her daddy when she grows up, but wants to be a mom too.  She is always trying to "recycle" things that should be thrown away into something magical and creative.  I am so thankful to her for all she does and the light she brings into our family.  She is desperately hoping for a little sister someday and tells me so daily.  This year we are doing Girl Scouts and she is enjoying that.  She wants to do choir next year.  She says as soon as she is old enough to run in races she wants me to put her in them.  She loves to play and run.  I think we'll have to go hiking this year and camping to accommodate her insatiable appetite for all thing nature.

Happy Birthday Conner

Today my little boy is 4!  I was going through some of his old clothes to give to Corbin and it feels like he was just in them.  Time goes by too fast!  I love this little boy of mine.  He is a great kid!  We have had our challenges with his eating and talking and other things, but in general he is a really sweet beautiful little boy.  He gets complimented all the time on his manners.  I taught him to be polite, but this kid is a natural at it.  I love to give him gifts because he always says the perfect thing when he sees it.
On Sunday mornings when I'm scrambling to get to church on time he always makes sure to tell me that I look beautiful and he loves me.  He  reminds me of why it's important to eat healthy and encourages me to do so.  He tells me loves me "squishy", but if I feel like I need to be less squishy than it's ok with him.  He gives hugs freely and loves unconditionally!  On most days he is my ray of sunshine and then on others he can make me crazy.  he is sneaky and then will tell on himself because he feels guilty.  He cries when I get mad and he is passionate about life.  He has some OCD tendencies that I have grown to love about him.  He has taught me about patience and love.  I adore this little boy of mine and I am so blessed to have him apart of my life.  I can't imagine a world with out him in it, and thank Heavenly Father for sending me such a great blessing!

January

It's almost February so I suppose I'll give you all recap of Jan.  We were sick, A LOT.  I think we have had the flu at our house 3 times just in Jan and at least 5 since Thanksgiving.  We are all doing better now and just have colds now.

Kaily is doing great in school, she is reading chapter books now and loves the fact that she no longer has to read what her teacher says she has to.  In January she got to go on a special field trip for the kids who got good reports for the quarter.  In math she is excelling as well as in spelling.  She loves school and said to me just the other day, "Mom, I don't know why some people hate school, I love it, it's so fun."  Moments like that make me happy that I put here when I did.

Conner is growing so much and I love playing with him and spending time with him, I'll post more about him on his birthday.

Corbin has gotten two teeth, molars, this makes a total of 4.  He has two more molars wanting to come in.  We are trying to get him to stay in his own bed at night.  He lost a bit of weight over the last month so his growth has been stunted a bit.  In one weekend he lost almost a pound.  Unfortunately he's the one that got most of the sickness that's been at our house.

Clint is enjoying two out of the three classes he is taking this semester.  He is doing really well at his figure drawing class and is grateful for the anatomy background he has.  The knowledge has really helped him out.

I am doing the mom thing.  I just finished helping Kaily with her cookie sales and now we move on to something else.  A mothers job is never done and there always seems to be more than I can get done in a day, or even a week. I'm still going to the gym 3-5 times a week and that gives me some sanity.

Just not feeling it

I really don't have much to write these days, I should have, but I don't.  Sorry for lack of posts, I've started a few and never finished them.  Clint is back in school, another semester down.  Kaily is back in school and the boys and I are enjoying our time together.  Hope you all have a great New year and maybe next month I'll write more.

Where have we been?

This month has been challenging for me to want to blog.  We haven't done much other than finish the semester for Clint, which really took a lot of my time and energy.  You'd think that b/c it's his school semester that it wouldn't take so much of MY time, but it some how does every semester.  I think it's the getting the kids out of the house so dad can get his stuff done that does it.  So we've been Christmas shopping and grocery shopping and helping out at Kaily's school and the list goes on and on.

So as much as I love my kids I haven't taken a single picture this month, I know it's terrible.  I didn't take many pictures in November either.  I hope to redeem myself this weekend as we venture out into the cold to see the lights around Ogden and SLC.

Kaily's last day of school for the year was today.  They had a party and played, she got to wear normal clothes, which is only a once a month thing b/c she wears a uniform all other days.  She is excited to be home with Clint for a bit before he has to go back to school.  Right now they don't see much of each other these because he is usually leaving for the night shortly after she gets home from school.  She has also taken it upon herself to teach Conner to read, which mostly consists of her reading a line and then he repeats it.  It's a start at least and she does a good job making sure he knows his letter sounds.

Conner is SO excited for Kaily to be home.  He gets bored being with us all day.

So far Corbin has left the Christmas tree alone and the presents.  It helps that the tree is only half decorated.
