The last post for April

On Tuesday I went to my Dr. appointment. It was great, it took all of 15 min total. She told me that the baby looks healthy and then she asked if I wanted to know what we were having b/c she could tell. The image was really blurry for me b/c of the way the baby was sitting so I don't know how she knew. But I told her no, we will wait to find out. Clint and I have gone back and forth on this and that's what we've decided. I'm just happy the baby looks healthy and everything is measuring right, except for it's legs, they're really long. Must be taking after the Kemp side.

I am feeling great these days, a little emotional, but I think that's normal. I was telling my Dad this morning that sometimes I just don't know what to do with myself when I'm like that. I don't do drama well or over emotional so when it's ME who's acting that way I feel really dumb.

Clint is DONE for the semester YEAH! We got the final grades back and he didn't do as well as he wanted (4.0) but he still did great (3.5). Now we will enjoy him while he is home for a month or so. Kaily has 1 month to go and then she is done also.

With Kaily it was Orange Juice, with Conner it was pasta, meat and root beer (I hate root beer), with this one, lately it's been CHOCOLATE. I can't seem to get enough of it. I don't want the milk chocolate or the candy bars, I want dark, semi-sweet chocolate with or without peanut butter. MMMMM....that is what this body wants lately. Maybe it's the hormones, but really I don't normally like chocolate that much, every now and then is great. Now though, I could eat it everyday. I think it's a good thing there isn't much of it in my house.

Movie Night

We just saw this movie and we all liked it. Both Kaily and Conner were glued to the screen. We saw it for family night tonight. The story was great and the animation was typical of Dreamworks, so it wasn't a Disney, but it was still VERY good. We didn't see it in 3D though, but I hear it's worth seeing in 3D. Kaily and Clint can't see 3D very well, so we don't spend the extra $ very often and really never when we take Kaily. If you haven't seen the movie yet, you should.

A great post by someone else

I've been thinking a lot about being a mother this weekend and I was directed to this site by a friend, While I was there I happened across another post of hers that I think should be read by all my friends and family. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It gave me some good things to ponder and I too am grateful for my stretch marks.

A great field trip

On Tuesday, which was the last nice warm day of the week, we went to a farm called American Heritage Farms with one of Kaily's preschool classes. We had a great time and the kids got to learn about the animals as well as hold a few baby ones. Conner was of course bored within the first 10 min. He wanted to go find some rocks and just really didn't want to be sitting around. He's my get up and go kid. Kaily LOVED every minute of it. Conner did like holding the baby chicken and he took his turn to pet all the animals, except for the cows, he just yelled at them. After we saw all the animals we had a picnic lunch. I think we will go back here. It's on the way to Bear Lake for us and I think the kids would like to go back and do more things. The Farm opens offically in June.
Most of everyone who went.

Kaily and Conner liked the baby bunnies.
Conner with a Pygmy Goat
Conner yelling at the Cow for licking Kaily Kaily and the baby cow, she loved that it licked her.
Kaily and a friend looking at a gosling.

Conner and one out of 5 of the horses they had there.

One of those days

There are some days that no matter how bad the kids seem to be that you find yourself looking at them in the quiet moments before they start screaming and whining again that your heart fills with love, so much that there aren't words enough to explain it. Today is one of those days for me. In the midst of all the yelling and fighting I find myself more in love with my little ones.

My Monkeys

What do you do on a day that is sunny and your house is 85 degrees by 6 pm? You go get a pizza and go to the park. At least that's what we did yesterday. I don't want to turn the cooler on yet and I hate having the house hot, especially when pregnant. So I didn't want to cook and I didn't want to be in the house any more.

We had a great time at the park and dinner was good too. (=

The Half Marathon

Yesterday Clint and I ran the SLC half Marathon. Clint was going to run on his own, but changed his mind after I got pregnant, but he didn't tell me this until yesterday. It was a great surprise. Not that I couldn't run on my own, it was just nice to have him by my side the whole time. It threw the time he would have had, but he said he didn't care there were other runs to beat his old time with. (Sorry Logan Clint says he'll have to beat your time with another race.) I think that meant more to me than him doing the run in the first place. We finished in 3:09 something. I thought it was good considering all the stops we had to make on my behalf. We spent a lot of the run going potty, very frustrating. It was a beautiful day to run though. I really couldn't have asked for a better day. I got sunburned and am a bit sore today, but nothing serious. Clint may have fared worse than I did simply b/c I trained more than he did. We had a great time though. It was fun to run with my best friend and have him cheer me on along the way.

As far as the baby goes it all seems to be ok. I started cramping after I didn't have to pee anymore. I really tried to listen to the needs of my body and I think I did a good job. We walked for a long while and I while I was frustrated by that fact, but I understood the reason behind it.

We are going to run another 1/2 next year and we'll start training in December after the baby is born.

Wisdom from my 5 yr old

When you know your cleaning habits need to change.

"Mom, Why do we need to clean the house, is someone coming over?"

Pregnancy Questions

Lots of people have been asking how my pregnancy is going and if I have ANY idea on what we are having. Also they have asked me if it's anything like the other two. Since everyone else is asking I thought I would post an answer to all of these questions.

The first 8 or so weeks weren't as bad as they were with Conner, but I was still nauseous and lacked tons of energy, not as much as the other two though. It didn't help that I got really sick after I found out I was pregnant. 13 weeks hit, BOOM, that day I ran 5 miles and had energy left over. I am now almost 15 weeks and have little to no nausea left and most days I actually forget that I'm pregnant.

No idea or inclination on what we are having. This whole pregnancy has been a surprise so I think we are going to keep it that way, meaning we probably aren't going to find out what we're having.

This one is NOTHING like that other two. If anything it's more similar to Kaily's than Conner's, but even then it's drastically different from hers. Let me explain. When I was preg with Kaily I was wking 2 jobs and I ate whatever I wanted whenever I wanted with no holding back. I had the thought I was eating for 2 and that I would just loose it all after she was born. I was wrong of course. I also never exercised other than running from class to class on campus. With Conner I was really overweight and I was REALLY tired all the time. Even before I found out I was pregnant I was taking naps during the day and I felt like I had no energy. I did walk, didn't wk and eat better while pregnant with him though, which made a difference in the weight I gained, which wasn't much. This one, I'm running a half marathon on Sat and I wk out every other day still. I eat smart unless I have a craving. I haven't gained any weight yet and I still feel great. I get tired, but nothing unmanageable. The feelings , emotions and just EVERYTHING is different this go around. I am healthy, am in a healthier place mentally and just overall I'm in a better place.

Just some Info

A little over a week left until Spring semester officially comes to an end. This go around I am really excited to have Clint home for a couple of months before going back. We have camping planned for the first time since Conner was born and even though I'm preg I'm still excited. I want to go hiking and if we had bikes I would want to do that too. Kaily gets out the first week in June so we have to wait until she is done, but all of this means that Summer is arriving. In a few weeks we are going to put in our garden, just another sign. It has been a busy few months, it'll be nice to take a breath before he has to go back.

I would LOVE to show you Clint's wk, but most of it is on programs that we don't have. I'm really proud of all he has accomplished this year. He'll be taking Summer semester starting the end of June and then Fall starts in Aug.

Here's the 411 on Clint's job status. We have a few options,

  1. Take severance pay
  2. Wait for them to transfer us to a new location anywhere from Logan to Draper
  3. Transfer ourselves to any place within the Continental US

We are thinking of just taking the severance pkg and moving on to something more in Clint's area of interest. They did say that it will happen sometime in 2011. We'll keep you posted though on what we decide.

Clint gets creative

In our house decorating eggs isn't just about dying them different colors. Since being married to Clint I've learned it's more like a form of art. His are WAY more elaborate than I would do, but he IS the artist.

The orange ones are Clint's attempt to draw an armadillo and the dark green one is a bunny face and then the light green one Kaily asked me to draw a smiley face.

April 3,2010

On a VERY cold, 17 degree, Saturday morning we went to the South Ogden Easter Egg hunt. As you can see from the pics there is snow on the ground. The kids hands were so cold by the time we finished that we just in the car and went home for some nice hot coco. Conner didn't cooperate with me to take pics of him because he was SO cold. They were good sports about it though. While other kids all around were crying mine were, I think too cold to cry and they wanted the eggs. Neither one came away with very much, but they were happy to go.

Later that day we decorated eggs between Conference sessions. Kaily was so excited that she got everything out and helped me get the eggs ready and even put newspaper all over the table so we wouldn't mess it up. Conner was very careful as he decorated each egg.

Story time

Clint's mom came to stay with us the last couple days of March and the kids were So excited to see her. We had lots of fun with her while we went shopping, played board games and read stories. The kids love to be read to and Grandma didn't disappoint at all. She was so animated while reading Going on a Bear Hunt that the kids asked her to read it over and over again before bed time.

What little boys are made of

Lately I can't send Conner outside to play without him coming back to me like this.

I love that he loves to play outside and I love that he's SO boy, what I don't like is the muddy sandy mess he leaves in the bathroom when I'm done taking all his clothes off to put him in the tub. Oh well, it's only Spring and Summer is around the corner, I think I have A LOT more of these days ahead of me. Besides, he still looks so dang cute even with the dirt all over him.

April Fool's

I woke up the morning of April 1 to find this. I guess this was Mother Nature's way of playing an April Fools joke.
