Good-by July

July is now done and I have to say that I am sad about it. August means getting ready for school and that means saying good-by to my wonderful husband for the next 3-4 months as he tries to get good grades and works a full time job. He does all that just so I don't have to, so that I can stay home and be the mom I am trying to be. August also means it's our anniversary, 5 years. Actually tomorrow will be the day, well, to be exact an hr 1/2. It means that fireworks are over and so are fun parades. That my run is getting even closer and I am so not ready. It means that my son will be 6 months old and my daughter 3 1/2. It means that I have lived here for 2 months and I still have boxes to unpack and things to organize. It means that I am 3 months closer to turning 30. So after all that, I can say that July has been a great month and hopefully we can make the most of August before Clint returns to school.

Kaily got Tagged

Baily tagged Kaily so here we go.
Name/meaning behind it: Kaily Marie Willis. Clint was cleaning the Celestial room at the Provo temple when I was pregnant with her and the name just came to him. When he told me about it at first I didn't like it, but it was 2 am and he had just woke me up, so there is my defence. Then when I told my best friend what we were going to call her she reminded me that I had a dream before my mission that I had a little girl named Kaily. That sealed the deal for me. The Marie part is my middle name which is after my late grandma Kemp.

A Memory

Angie gave this challenge on her blog, it looked like fun.
  1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you have about either Clint or myself or a memory that involves both of us.
  2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

So big

My kids crack me up! Yesterday I went shopping for a new swimsuit for Kaily, she has grown out of hers. When I got home she tried it on for me so I could see if it fit or not. As she walked away with her swimsuit on she said, "Mom this is just the cutest swimsuit ever. I think you should take a picture." She then got the camera so I could take pics of her in her new outfit. She then puts Conner's new hat and her new hat on her and says, "Mom, aren't we just adorable." She gets up to dance and as she is dancing tells me, "This is just so cute, I am so lucky." I wish you could see her. She is seriously one of THE most animated people I know. She always has a great story to tell me and they are always full of detail. The other day she was really mad at me and said, "I want a new mommy and daddy, Sarah and John." Don't ask me who Sarah and John are b/c I have no idea. She just comes up with these things. Conner has started this weird grunting thing. He does it all the time. And he has found his tongue and learned how to spit. He thinks it's so funny when you are trying to feed him baby food to get it all in his mouth stick his little tongue out and shower you with baby goodness. I try not to laugh, but I think it's funny too, especially when it happens to Clint. Conner loves to have things in his mouth. Clint was feeding him pears and Conner's binky was sitting on the tray. Well, Conner decided he was done with the pears. So after a spoonful went into his mouth and Clint tried to coax him to take another bite he graped his binky and stuck in his mouth and then just stared at Clint. Conner is getting so big and not at all doing the little baby things he used to. He is growing up and while I'm happy about that, it also makes me sad not have him a baby anymore. I love my kids and the funny things they do all the time.

A Fun FHE

I've been searching for a fun place to go with the kids since we moved here. A friend of mine told me about this place just down the road from us. It's called Nature Park and it has an awesome splash pad for us to play in. On Monday July 7 we packed a change of clothes for the kids, some dinner and headed to the park. We used the opportunity to teach Kaily about being thankful for water and for nature. I don't know how much she got out of the lesson, she was too excited to get wet.
This is the park area, Kaily had so much fun she didn't want to leave.

4th at the Lake

We went to my grandma's trailer at Bear Lake for the weekend. Clint and Dad spent the first day painting while I visited with my mom and gram and took care of Conner. Kaily was all over the place having so much fun being with her grandparents. That night we watched as fireworks went off all around us. Both kids were awake for the fireworks, although Conner could have cared less. On Saturday we went to the lake. There were SO many people there. I seriously have never seen it that crowded. We had fun though. After Conner spent some time in the lake he went to sleep for the rest of the afternoon. Kaily had a blast. She and her dad built a sand pile that later turned into a turtle and they played out in the lake together. She thought she was in heaven. Dad took her out on the kayak and she wasn't really sure about that, so Clint went with them. We had so much fun. My Aunt Dee came up too on Saturday. Kaily loves her. She would follow her around everywhere she went. it was very cute to watch. My Aunt and I used to be very close and I think I used to do the same thing to her when I was Kaily's age. It was fun to be with everyone and enjoy the cooler weather at the lake. Thank you Mom, Dad, Aunt Dee and Gram for a great trip.

Kathy's tag

Kathy tagged me, so this is her doing... Three Joys:
  1. My children, there is nothing that means more to me than them.
  2. Good, uplifting music. It doesn't have to be churchy, just be good lyrics or no lyrics and just great composition
  3. Thunderstorms. I LOVE a good rain, and I love to dance in it.
Three Fears:
  1. Moths. I know that sounds silly, but I really hate them.
  2. That I will not be able to be good enough for my kids, to teach them and help them in today's world
  3. Loosing a child. I can handle it if they die, I know I will see them again. I'm talking about loosing a child by them running off and getting taken. That is probably my biggest fear!

Three Goals:

  1. To run a half-marathon
  2. get Kaily on a good schedule
  3. to read more
Three Current Obsessions:
  1. Blogging
  2. My kids
  3. making great food
Three Random or Surprising Facts About Me:
  1. I love to try to cook new things, currently I'm trying out ways to help us eat healthier
  2. This may come as a shock to some of you, but I really do enjoy getting all dressed up and getting my nails done
  3. I love shoe shopping

Now I tag...Stef, Steph, and Michelle

Happy July 1

Look at thoes thighs! The many faces of Kaily

I found my camera

YEAH! I found my camera. I know I said I probably wouldn't post again this week, but b/c I found my camera I wanted to post some pictures of last month and some of this month that I have already taken. So these are of June. This is Conner's first time in a real swing. He didn't know what to think about it at first, but then he loved and cried when I took him out. This is Conner enjoying his mom feeding him some peaches. This is Conner's fist ice cream cone thanks to Dad. He kept trying to grab it out of Clint's hands and Dad finally gave in. YUM!
