Kaily's race

Every year Kaily's school does a walk-a-thon followed by a race. Each child who participates gets a ribbon except for the winner who gets a trophy. The kids race according to age and gender. This year in the Kindergarten group there were 4 girls who wanted to participate. Kaily got to do two of her favorite things, run and compete. The horn blew and Kaily just stood there for a second while the others took off. Realizing she could go she ran hard. She was behind most of the run and then kicked it into high gear and ended up winning in the end. She was so excited, and we were excited for her. She asked me if she could do something like that again. I think next year we'll do some kid runs with her.

The castle

I've been told of a very cool park not far from my house, but until Monday we had actually never gone. Now that we have been there I think it will be a family favorite to go back again and again. We all had so much fun. I decided to go there for Family Night this week, so we bought a pizza and went. The kids call it the castle park. There is so much room to play and have fun, the kids would stay there for hours if I let them.

5k/1k runs

Sat. Sept 11 we had our annual community fun run. It's a 5k run and 1k walk. I usually do the 5k, and thought about it this year, but changed my mind due to the idea of going into labor too early. Really though, I don't think I could have even walked it this year. We all did the 1k walk. Kaily LOVES to run and she doesn't like to wait for me so Clint ran with her and I walked with Conner. I ran the first little bit and then remembered why I don't do that 8 1/2 months preg. It was a lot of fun though. They always have breakfast for us after and the kids love to get out.

Conner loves to sing

We've been getting ready for the Primary program coming up next month by listening to the primary CD with all the songs on it for our program. Conner LOVES to listen to it in the car and since I've been playing it more he has been walking around the house singing different songs from it. Today it was "Follow the Prophet" and in true song form he mumbled through the words until the chorus and then he belted as loud as he could. He also asks me if he can sing to the baby, usually it's "I am a Child of God", or a Barney song.

less than a month

I was thinking yesterday how great I felt and I hadn't started to have the pregnancy wobble yet and things were looking good. WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES! Today I don't feel good, I think I've caught my daughters cold, I started a NOTICEABLE wobble today and I am having all sorts of pain where I shouldn't be yet. I think this baby might come early, I just need it to hold on for at least 2 more weeks. As this day has progressed I think of all the inconvenient things that would be if the baby came early, like this week early. Not that it's going to happen, just "what ifs". I have so much to do in the next couple of weeks that I really don't even want to think about having the baby right now. I've gotten off track though...A day...This thought had me thinking about all the things our bodies go though in one day that we don't even realize, that we take for granted. While we are sleeping our bodies never do, the insides are constantly changing, repairing and doing all sorts of things. Our bodies are amazing creations.
