Kaily's race

Every year Kaily's school does a walk-a-thon followed by a race. Each child who participates gets a ribbon except for the winner who gets a trophy. The kids race according to age and gender. This year in the Kindergarten group there were 4 girls who wanted to participate. Kaily got to do two of her favorite things, run and compete. The horn blew and Kaily just stood there for a second while the others took off. Realizing she could go she ran hard. She was behind most of the run and then kicked it into high gear and ended up winning in the end. She was so excited, and we were excited for her. She asked me if she could do something like that again. I think next year we'll do some kid runs with her.
