Christmas Again

Early this morning we took Clint to his first day of clinicals for his OB rotation. It's 4:30 am and as we were packing the kids in the car, because we only have one, much to our dismay it started snowing again. On our way home Kaily asked me if we could go see the lights on Temple Square again and if it was going to be Christmas soon. I said that when it was Christmas time again we could go see the lights and she promptly said, "But Mom, look at all the snow, it's Christmas again already." That's when you know you've had too much, when your child thinks a whole year has passed before her eyes and it is now time for Christmas. Too bad it's supposed to snow 3 more times this week. I can't wait for spring...REAL SPRING!

BTW: Karen's Journey has been made private for personal reasons, if you would like to be invited to view what is going on with my wkouts let me know by leaving your e-mail address here, or e-mialing me at karen_clintwillis@yahoo.com. Thanks.

NOT AGAIN!

It's no secret that the kids have been sick just about every other weekend this winter. Oh how I wish it would stop snowing and changing temps so drastically! So, this weekend is no exception, Conner puked everywhere last night. It made me VERY grateful that my hair has been cut short. I can handle the puke, I just can't handle it in my hair, there really is nothing worse! With that said...Conner is getting two molars and has been feeling bad on and off for days now. At first I thought it was the molars that were causing him to have such pains, that was before the "incident". This morning he is acting fine and his temp is down to a normal 98 degrees, last night it was up to 102. Hopefully this healthy spell will continue, if not... a normal, for this winter, weekend is in store for us. I'm just glad that Kaily is feeling fine.

Snowflakes on my nose and eyelashes

It's snowing today. I had LOTS of errands I needed to run while Kaily was in school so Conner and I braved the weather and went shopping. He was fun to be with, I think it's really the first time that he realized what snow was. After getting pelted in the face a few times he opened his mouth to let the flakes fall in. After the first couple landed nicely in his mouth he decided to stick his tongue out and see how many he could get. And since that wasn't enough he had to lift his head to the sky and open up as wide as he could sticking his tongue out and screaming if the flakes didn't land where he wanted them to. He was so happy about the whole thing that he tried to open my mouth to get me to do it. So, here we are in the parking lot of the store, heads towards the sky, tongues out trying to catch as many snowflakes as we could. I love being a mom, sometimes you get to be a kid again.

My little runner

The other day, Kaily, Conner and I went for a walk with our new stroller. It has been a few months since I have been out with the kids for a walk and it was really nice to be out. We ended up going 4 miles and while Conner slept most of the time Kaily got in and out of the stroller. She doesn't like sitting in the stroller for a long time anymore, and I forgot what it was like to walk with 4 yr old. Thanks for enduring it with me Becky, I understand now. She asked if she could run while I walked behind her. The rout we took has A LOT of hills, in fact the whole way is up and down hills. There are some flat parts and I made a deal with Kaily that she could ruin those.. So that's what we did. I was impressed, she has become quite the runner and very fast. After watching her and then the ease of putting her to bed that night has convinced me to make it a nightly thing. She loves to run and if it helps her settle down better at night I'm all for it.

My Big Brothers

Happy Birthday Jon and Jason! 5 Reasons (there are more) that I love my brothers
  1. Their love for family
  2. Their unconquerable spirit to achieve in everything
  3. The times they took to teach me when I was younger
  4. Their willingness to listen to me, even when I seemed crazy
  5. Their faith

I love you both so very much and I hope this year brings many happy memories for you!
